Love TPP (touch pad pro) it is so useful and handy because I have a second mouse to control the Mac with. There is an issue, occasionally the mouse goes a bit haywire and doesn't move around too well, but the real mouse works fine. I have to close the connection, quit tpp, and re launch And re connect. Minor issue but a pain.

I really love your app and can't wait for the sdk release. There may be a small donation on the way, depending if I have some money, as I'm only 13 and no job or income, etc. Only pocket money from parents, and money made from selling stuff on ebay!!

Luan: using the Remote you can control iTunes reasonably well alreadt but i know what you mean.. ive also made some suggestions for that (a virtual Apple Remote would rock imho).

You might want to check out the program "Signal" for top notch iTunes control, including album art viewing: www.alloysoft.com it's very cool, although not needed once touchpad gets better controls for iTunes. :)

I have just started using this today for a few hours now and I love it. Setup was simple. And just awesome how great it works on both my PC (which I use as my media center connected to my TV) and my Mac. I was using the ATI all-in-wonder RF remote for the media PC, never using that again. The way I can control the cursor with this is amazing. iTunes control integration would be really really nice. Keep up the great work ~

thanks for the votes / feature suggestions. i have a couple of questions:

how would you want autohide to work for the keyboard?

also, how do function keys work on a mac? in windows you sometimes want to press the function key on its own, and sometimes you want to use the shift / ctrl / alt modifiers too (ctrl f5, alt f4). on a mac, does the option key ever get used with the function keys? do the other modifiers? and does anyone really need 15 function keys or would 10 be good enough?

@greg: Try the Ctrl / Cmd tip that mac dub gave -- that's exactly what I was going to say. I think customizable shortcuts would be one way to do this -- although it'll be a while before that's implemented.

@mac dub: I know, I'm quite surprised myself. BigBoss' internal repo stats page now shows around 90,000 downloads of the latest release (v2.11), and I've gotten 39 donations so far -- meaning 1 in every 2,300 has donated. Even if 10,000 of those were duplicate downloads by the same person, it's still 1:2000! It's no wonder that people resort to the closed-source, pay-to-download model -- if I'd even made a dollar for every download, I'd have done extremely well for myself! Oh well, it just makes me really appreciate the few who actually did donate all the more. Once I cross the 50 donor mark, I'm going to send an email to all the donors asking what features they'd like, which will be my first priority to implement.

And wow, I didn't know you could recommend jailbreaking at a Mac store :D Thanks a lot for spreading the word! :)

@ Greg: I don't know if you're using Windows or Mac, but in Mac you can open a link in a new tab by pressing command + click and you stay in your current window. If I'm not mistaken it's control + click in Windows.

JS, if you've had 40,000 downloads and I'm your biggest donor there's definitely something wrong here. An Apple wireless KB and mouse would cost 148 €, which is around $200!

About that iTunes integration, you know it makes sense. Of course, when you have a Mac to work with I´m sure you'll find it a bit easier to integrate. The advantage would be to use one app to control your machine from your touch from anywhere on your network.

Either way, this is a hot product and I'm spreading the word. I work in a Mac store in Marbella, so I'll be sure to tell everyone I know.

JS- I was surfing Fark.com (great for amusing news) and I realized one thing missing. In Firefox if you click your scroll wheel while hovering over a link, it will open in a new tab, leaving you in the original tab. It comes in handy when you want to open a few links without having to keep going back to the original tab. I think it could be done by a 3 finger tap (I have done a bunch of this just to make sure 3 finger tapping doesn't send it into wack mode). Just a suggestion though.

@nambro: it seems like the jailbreaks will keep coming, and therefore, touchpad will always be available. if you'd like to donate, that would be great. not sure what issue you're having with the source, if you can be a bit more specific i can get back to you.

@xcapepr: i agree -- i tried doing that, but couldn't find an easy (code-wise) way to make the buttons look white and then blue (like shift/caps lock), so i stuck with what the easier alternative (stay on blue). would it be ok if the buttons were red->blue instead of white->blue?

@mac dub: one of the issues is that even when your device is off, the connection is still kept open. try turning off the default leopard vnc server and installing a different vnc server to see if that makes things better. about itunes integration -- i actually have zero experience with itunes integration -- but if enough people request it, then i could look into it. of course, since you're the biggest individual donor so far, that already puts this feature up in my priority list :)

I agree with xcapepr that the modifier keys should be a double tap to leave on feature. That's a great idea. Another thing I'd like to see is iTunes integration so we can see the playlists and album artwork. I know this is slightly off topic, but I'd much rather use this feature than have to turn on Signal. Controlling the music w/o having to turn on the TV, especially from another room, would make this app nearly complete.

Just wanted to mention again that using VNC with leopard really hogs the CPU. Even with the iPod Touch turned off VNC uses 50% CPU and prevents the machine from sleeping. This is obviously a 10.5 problem, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for a workaround.

I have a request, why doesnt the modifier keys act like the shift key on the iPhones keyboard?

On the iPhone, you can enable caps lock. If you double tab quickly the shift key, it goes from normal to white to blue. White for shift once and blue for caps.

This will be great because most of the time the modifier keys are used for quick keyboard shortcuts.

Anyway, great work on the app!!
